With Tesco controlling 30% of the grocery market in Britain, why not spread the wealth around a little – and try a local market? The Riverside Real Food Market is Cardiff’s award winning local food market, held every Sunday from 10am – 2pm in the shadow of the Millennium Stadium.

From humble origins in 1998, Cardiff Farmers Market has grown to become the capital city’s leading place to source local, Welsh and organic produce.  The social enterprise now operates thee weekly farmers’ markets in Roath, Rhiwbina and Riverside as well as our weekly vintage market on St. Mary Street.

Have you ever tried chilli jam? Or goat sausages? Perhaps you’d like to try some local salami or beetroot soup? There is a well-hung eat stall, vacuum packed legs of lamb, home made faggots and even beef jerky. The best onion bhajis in Britain are sold on one stall, and the best-pressed Hereford apple juice on the next. There are samples to be had, try before you buy the award winning cheeses, chutneys and jams. Whatever your taste buds desire, have a look around.
