Sugarloaf Vineyards

The Sugarloaf Vineyards are situated in South Wales’ Brecon Beacons National Park and enjoy panoramic views over the Usk Valley. They consist of five acres of vines growing on the south facing slopes of the Sugar Loaf Mountain in Abergavenny. A variety of distinctive, smooth, quality wines are produced that have achieved “Quality Status” from the European Wine Standards Board and won awards in national competitions.

Seven varieties of grapes are planted at the vineyard where the soils are well balanced which adds a special character to the wine. Four varieities of white wine are produced along with a special blend of red wine and sparkling wines.

The Sugarloaf Vineyards make for a pleasant day trip from our self catering holiday cottages shown opposite. Why not incorporate a visit with a drive through Brecon Beacons National Park? They have a self guided vineyard trail where it is possible to learn about the work done at the vineyard, as well as a coffee and gift shop where Welsh wine can be bought. They also do wine tasting for groups of 8 to 30 people (by appointment only).
