Luxury Self-Catering Accommodation

 

Welsh holiday cottage, Bwthyn y Saer, was renovated in 1996 and furnished to a high standard (Wales Tourist Board 4 Stars).  The holiday cottage is all on the ground level offering easy access for wheelchairs and consist of a lounge-diner, bathroom, kitchen, twin bedroom and double bedroom.

The Lounge-Diner

The living room has a large three seat sofa, an armchair and a dining table with chairs. There is a colour TV and video with a large collection of videos for your enjoyment including many classic feature films (not to mention 101 Great Welsh Tries).

The bookshelf also contains a large collection of Wales related books from general guides to local history to works of fiction by famous Welsh authors such as Dylan Thomas.  It also contains a large amount of material for those on a walking holiday.  There are OS maps, suggested routes, ramblers association walks and our very own farm trail with accompanying information.  There is also a selection of books and information for those interested in bird watching. 

The coffee table is home to a leaflet display giving information on all the local attractions of South Wales.  The central location of the holiday cottage makes it an ideal base from which to tour South Wales.  There is a wealth of things to see - the Gower Peninsula Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Brecon Beacons National Park, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, spectacular castles, the cities of Swansea and Cardiff and much more.  

The Kitchen

The kitchen is well equipped and includes a microwave, washing machine, oven and hob, fridge, toaster, kettle etc., and ample storage.  An iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner are also provided.  The holiday cottage is centrally heated and may be controlled by a thermostat on the boiler in the kitchen.

The Bedrooms and Bathroom

The holiday cottage has two bedrooms - 1 double & 1 twin.  The bedrooms lie alongside the picturesque River Clydach which runs between the holiday cottage and the farmyard, on its journey from the mountains to Swansea Bay.

All bed linen and towels are provided free of charge.  A cot and high chair are available on request.

The bathroom which is well equipped with a bath, a Mira 415 over-bath power shower and a shaver point.

The holiday cottage has unlimited secure parking and is very peaceful. It has its own enclosed garden area with picnic table, childrens slide and swing.  There is also a patio area with an oak bench - ideal for a Summer evening watching the lambs playing in the surrounding fields and the swallows swooping over the farm.  A barbeque is available on request.
