To get to our self catering holiday
cottages, you will first need to get to Wales! Here is some info
to get you started:
BY AIR: Wales's main and only
international airport is Cardiff
International Airport, an easy 45 minute drive from our holiday
cottages in the Swansea Valley. The main international carrier is
KLM
Royal Dutch Airlines which flies in to Cardiff Wales from Amsterdam.
Other operators include Aer
Arann, Air
Southwest, Bmibaby,
Eastern
Airways, XL.com,
Thomsonfly.com
and Zoom
(who fly between Wales and Canada). However, the vast bulk of international
connections and the best bargains to Wales from Europe and beyond
generally come through English airports such as London Heathrow,
Stanstead, Gatwick, Luton Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester. To
find cheap flights to these cities, which are between 2 and 4 hours
by car from our self catering holiday cottages, we recommend that
you check the "no frills" budget airlines such as Ryanair
and Easyjet.

Checker tool is provided by moneysavingexpert.com.
BY TRAIN: The nearest mainline
train station to our holiday cottages is Neath, which is 5 miles
away. There is a direct hourly service to and from London, via Cardiff,
Newport, Bristol, Swindon and Reading which takes less than three
hours. Other intercity trains link Neath (and Swansea) with Birmingham
and the Midlands, York and the North of England, and Bristol and
the South West. Buy

Train Timetable. If you are traveling from further afield, you
will need to travel through the Channel Tunnel and then catch a
connection to Wales from London Waterloo. Eurostar
is the train service that connects London (Waterloo station) with
Paris (Gare du Nord), Lille and Brussels (Gare du Midi).
BY BUS: By far
the biggest national bus operator in Britain is National
Express, whose network covers the whole country. One of its
chief routes is London to Swansea which includes a stop a Neath,
some five miles from our self catering cottages.
BY FERRY: Wales has four main ferry ports,
all serving boats from Ireland. Stena
Line operates ferries from Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead and services
from Rosslare to Fishguard. Irish
Ferries runs ferries from Dublin to Holyhead and from Rosslare
to Pembroke Dock. There is also a ferry from Cork to Swansea operated
by Swansea-Cork
Ferries. The nearest port to our self catering holiday cottages
is Swansea which is 12 miles away, Pembroke Dock is 64 miles away,
Fishguard is 74 miles away and Holyhead in North Wales is 190 miles
away. If you are traveling to Wales from any other European country
other than Ireland, you will need to sail to an English port and
complete the journey by bus, train or car.
BY CAR: Motorways
from all the main ferry ports and from the Channel Tunnel converge
on the M25, the motorway that circles London. From here the M4 motorway
runs west to the magnificent Severn Bridge which crosses the Severn
Estuary at the southern edge of the English-Welsh border. The sight
of Britain's longest bridge (3 miles) will temporarily distract
you from the steep toll which is £4.90 at the time of writing.
Our self catering farm cottages are within an hour of the bridge.
