HOME OF SWANSEA VALLEY HOLIDAY COTTAGES

Our holiday cottages are located at the centre of a picturesque farm on the western edge of the South Wales valleys, near Brecon Beacons National Park. Click on the images to enlarge them. All pictures taken at Plas Farm:

Originally the 'Home Farm' of a large estate, the countryside which now makes up Plas Farm is renownded for its natural beauty and is currently managed under a Countryside Council for Wales scheme which aims to preserve and enhance this special landscape and its wildlife. See our Environmental Policy.

Meet our pet Jack Russell, 'Holly', who lives at Plas Farm and is often seen around the holiday cottages going about her daily chores.

The Countryside
around the Cottages

Plas Farm, which is around 120 acres in size, is grazed by cattle and sheep. The holiday cottages sit at its centre, with beautiful countryside spreading out in all directions. The farm has a number of different habitats which exist in close proximity to eachother. This makes for an interesting and diverse scenery which is home to a wide variety of different plants and animals.

To the west of the holiday cottages, the land is classed as parkland - the animals graze amongst specimen trees dotted around the landscape. To the east of the cottages, the land rises gradually to fields of dense rush pasture and heathland with stunning views of the Swansea Valley. A mountain stream runs past the cottages which is lined by woodland. A short walk up the river valley from the holiday cottages takes you into a beautiful oak woodland. There are also two small coniferous woodlands, dominated by Norway Spruce, which may be explored. There are also man made habitats on the landscape which each support their own ecosystems, such as old dry stone walls, hedgerows and old farm buildings.
