THE PLAS FARM TRAIL (starts on cottage doorstep)
Visitors to Bwthyn Y Saer walking holiday cottage are
free to roam over 120 acres of farmland which includes hillside
walks with panoramic views of the Swansea valley and an area
of award winning oak woodland through which the River Clydach
runs. For some pics of the farm, watch the video on the front
page of our website or to see how the farm looks at different
times of the year, go to our Plas
Farm page and follow the links in the left column.

THE GOWER PENINSULA AONB
Swansea Valley Holiday Cottages are situated between
the Gower Peninsula and Brecon
Beacons National Park - ideal for a walking holiday - coast one
day, mountains the next! The Gower was Britain's first designated
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has some breathtaking scenery
from dramatic cliff tops over looking beautiful bays to moors
and commons scattered with ancient standing stones and hill forts.

BRECON BEACONS NATIONAL PARK
People come from all corners of the world to walk in
the unique landscape that is Brecon Beacons National Park. Our
holiday cottages are situated just 10 miles south of the park
boundary. Sue Bland stayed at our self catering cottages and wrote
about her experience Walking
in the Brecon Beacons.

THE GLAMORGAN HERITAGE COAST
The coast to the east of the holiday cottages boasts
miles of dramatic limestone and shale striped cliffs, boulder-strewn
beaches and sections of wide, white-sanded beaches that are just
waiting to be explored. Further around the coast near Merthyr
Mawr, there are huge sand dunes which are the second highest in
Europe. The Glamorgan Heritage Coast makes for a great day trip
from our self catering holiday cottages.

VALE OF NEATH "WATERFALL COUNTRY"
Nowhere else in Britain is there such a richness and diversity of
waterfalls within such a small area as can be found in the Vale
of Neath. This abundance has led to the region becoming known as
'Waterfall Country'. The deep gorges and waterfalls of the rivers
Mellte, Hepste and Nedd Fechan are spectacular and worth visiting
more than once through the changing seasons. Booklets detailing
the waterfall walks are available in our cottages and there is also
an Online
Guide to Walking in Waterfall Country.

AFAN VALLEY "LITTLE SWITZERLAND"
The Afan Valley, a narrow forested valley known locally as "Little
Switzerland", includes Afan Argoed Country Park which has way
marked footpath and nature trails for those who enjoy walking holidays.
Afan Forest Park covers an area of 11,000 hectares. Most of this
is woodland and is part of the 30,000 hectare Valleys Forest, the
largest urban forest in Europe.
Our self catering holiday cottages are in a perfect central location
for visiting all of the above attractions as part of an unforgetable
walking holiday in Wales.
