A hidden gem on a cliff top – a world-renowned golfing masterpiece, Pennard is one of the oldest, established links courses in Wales. Founded in 1896, designed by the great James Braid, the Scot responsible for some of the most famous golf courses in the world. It is a classic seaside links course with unpredictable difficult winds, enjoying a dramatic setting with views across Swansea. Pennard Golf Club is on the list of the best Welsh courses alongside Royal Porthcawl, Tenby, Royal St David’s and the Celtic manor. Six time Curtis Cup player Vicky Thomas started at the club, where many top amateur tournaments are held.

The course has seen little change over the last century and still features fearsome bracken, gorse and the fairways with their sand traps. The old-fashioned course can be found just beyond Pennard village, 8 miles west of Swansea on the A4607 and the B4436.

Garnant Golf

This friendly championship course was built on an old opencast coalmine and has spectacular views of Brecon Beacons National Park. Great facilities and very welcoming of visitors to the area.

Glyn Neath Golf

The home club of legendary Welsh comedian Max Boyce is a beautiful parkland course situated within the Brecon Beacons National Park. Renowned for its warm and friendly atmosphere.

Gower Golf

Mond Valley Golf

One of the most unusual courses in South Wales with the River Tawe on one side and the Swansea Valley on the other. This flat parkland course was originally for the use of workers at a local nickel refinery.

Morriston Golf

A pleasant parkland course on the outskirts of Swansea, the 15th is one of the most challenging short holes in Wales and the 7th is aptly named 'The Temple of Doom' as it ruins so many scorecards.
