A demanding course, where former Ryder Cup captain Brian Hugget learnt to play. After the uphill climb of the first two holes the course flattens out to offer magnificent views. A round of golf at Neath is unique when compared to Swansea's other courses - it is not a seaside course. Instead, this golf club is perched high on a hill in Cadoxton just a couple of miles from the town of Neath. Founded in 1934, it is a 'James Braid' planned course covering 220 acres.

It is one of Wales' highest golf courses at 500 feet above sea level with magnificent views of seven counties - the Bristol Channel to the south and the Brecon Beacons to the north. ‘The Pulpit’ is the 15th hole, so-called for its position high above the surrounding countryside. James Braid was commissioned to design the course on difficult mountain terrain and the course today enjoys nicely undulating ground without being too severe. The natural contours of the land have been incorporated into the challenge and Braid's design, altered slightly by Brian Hugget, still provides for an inspiring round to this day.
